How to Pick the Right Skincare?

THE PROBLEM


In this pandemic time, masks need to be put on every single time we go out.  It is our responsibility as a human being to help curb the covid together. Unbeknownst to us, our skin has started to act up because of the amount of time we wear the mask, especially if your job scope including communicating with lots of people. A lot of money has been spent but nothing works on your skin. Ever wonder why is that happening to you? If you are adamant about having healthy skin, a good skincare routine is needed. Skincare is a daily procedure to relieve skin conditions and enhance our appearance. Basic skincare routine contains of cleanser, moisturizer, toner and sunscreen. Today, I am going to share some of my knowledge on how to pick the best skincare routine.



SKIN TYPES Each of us has different types of skin.  The skin types are sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin and normal skin.  If you are wondering what your skin type is, you can always go to the nearest dermatologist to check it out or find a reliable sources online that has been certified by the health government bodies.  I would rather choose to do the latter since we are in a middle of pandemic right now and not allowed to go out from our house, unless we have something important to do.

Once you have found out your skin type, you should buy the right skin products for your skin. If the product has something that you are allergic to, you should straight out avoid the product. The more the hype is for a certain product does not mean it will work on your skin. Do not jump on the bandwagon for the sake of supporting your beloved influencer. Like I have mentioned before, study the ingredient before buying it. Just because it works on someone’s skin, does not mean it will work on yours.



TRY


If you are not sure whether the product is good or not for your skin, buy a smaller pack for a starter. Imagine buying an expensive product, but it does not work wonder at all. “Dang it, I could buy foods with the money instead”, thoughts that will be playing on your mind for the whole week. Apply it on your hand first instead of your face.If your skin suddenly starting to get rashes, you should stop using it and buy another product instead until you find the right product. Do not be afraid of trying things out.It’s all about trial and error.



THE ROUTINE The most important things for skincare routine are cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.  This is the most basic and if you are a beginner, you can start with these products. The cleanser is important as it will strip off the dirt on your skin and leave your skin all fresh. You need to wash your face with a cleanser at least twice a day. Other than that, the purpose of a moisturizer is to help trap the water in your skin as well as avoiding your skin from getting dry.  You are going to wake up with a dull face if you skip the moisturizer.

The most important thing is the sunscreen.  It needs to be applied before you step out of your house and reapplied when needed.  The sunscreen that needs to be applied is a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 with a broad spectrum.  The main factor of wearing sunscreen is to avoid the sunlight from directly hitting your skin.  It can be an early prevention from getting skin cancer, fine lines as well as hyperpigmentation.  The sunscreen needs to be applied not only when you go out.  Even if you decided to stay at home for the whole day, it needs to be applied as the light from the bulb also has the same effect as the sunlight.



LIFESTYLE Skincare is not only about applying a plethora of products on your skin, eating healthy food can also lead to healthy skin. You should start eating those greens that you always put off at the side of your plate on every meal.  Each of the green has different benefits. Less intake of sugar is also important as sugar can lead us to premature aging at an early age.  What is worse is that it can also lead to an excessive breakout. You should also avoid taking too much carbohydrate food and eat more protein instead.  A healthy diet is very much needed to achieve healthy skin.

Drink your water folks.  Water intake is very important for our outer and inner body.  It keeps our body hydrated throughout the day as well as flushing away all of the toxins inside your body, leaving your body all fresh and healthy. The more hydrated your skin is, the harder toxins will stay inside your body. Moreover, you should also get enough sleep and rest as lacking sleep will lead you to get more fine lines and dark eye circles.
